If you’ve ever wanted an out of the box rat rod or hot rod, how about a ’34 Plymouth? This one appears to be a stalled project that you can finish in your own style. It can be found here on eBay with an asking price of $8,000. Located in Mentor, Ohio, you could turn this into a really cool ride!
Here you can see the body is just a shell. It’s a little hard to tell what’s exactly mounted securely, just tacked in place or set in place for the photos. There is a lot of work to be done if you plan on making this into a “finished” hot rod. If ratty is more your style, then this thing is a blank canvas for whatever you want to throw at it. How about an aircraft theme? Maybe cover the inside with road signs or license plates? What would you do?
The car is set up for a big block Chevrolet engine and 4-speed transmission. However, if you want to take a more traditional approach, the seller has the 1957 J2 Olds engine pictured above available for an extra $600.
The side profile of this car is very good looking. The chop is the perfect proportions and the body lines are nice. The grille shell is from a Chevrolet sedan, but that doesn’t really matter. The frame has had quite a bit of engineering work done including a Competition Engineering back half. New Qa1 coil-over shocks along with a tube front axle and Ford spindles highlight the suspension components. The 17-inch artillery wheels are a great look and would be fine to keep on the final product.
