This 1955 Chevrolet Wagon was in the TMI Products booth at S.E.M.A. a couple of years ago. If you aren’t familiar with them, TMI makes some awesome automotive interiors. The car’s owner is Denver Lawrence and he should be proud of this ride. It was featured here on superchevy.com and is a real stunner! Check out more of this great ride and let us know what you think about it.
Obviously, when a company specializing in interiors works on a show car, the interior is the star. This Chevy is no exception. The great deep brown color goes well with the white and blue exterior. It has a classic elegance that looks like it could be featured in any European sports car. The pattern is called VXR and covers a 60-inch Pro Series up front and a new-to-market 38-inch Pro Series Bench in the rear. The interior also features matching door panels, dash pad, and color coordinated carpet. Check out this photo of the dash. You can really see the amazing contrast between old and new.
The engine is a 5.3 liter LS from a 2004 Chevy Silverado. It features Trick Flow heads and cam, FiTech Ultimate EFI system with a custom intake. It also has a ton of other performance goodies relating to ignition and exhaust. The engine compartment is really clean without being too over-the-top.
The long-roof features a huge retractable soft-top which is an amazing feat of engineering. The owner says it measures 48″x80″ and was made by Legacy Products. I don’t know if the pillars have been reinforced, but you would think that big of a hole would create some body twist under engine torque. Overall, this is an amazing car. What do you think?
