Talk about an awesome build! Looking at this 1940 Ford Truck, it’s hard to believe it started life as a 1.5-ton work truck. Of course, it’s now riding on a Z’d chassis and the body has been chopped and channeled to give it that low down look. You won’t be towing anything how with that boom, but it sure makes this thing look sweet! You can find this shop truck here on eBay in Clarklake, Michigan with bidding at $8,600.
So, let’s get right into the meat of this truck. It’s powered by a mid-1950s Hemi V8 which is mounted up to a 700R4 automatic transmission. This combo should offer decent amounts of grunt and the ability to cruise with modern traffic. More importantly, it has the right look to it. A more modern engine would offer more power, but something like this deserves to have a good looking engine. The only thing we might consider changing would be the exhaust. As sweet at the straight-pipes look, this thing has to be loud. Of course, you could always just bring a set of earplugs!
It isn’t until you start looking at the small details that you start to really appreciate this truck. From the saw blades under the engine to the chain link steering wheel and all the way to the back with the boom, this thing is loaded with style and cool details. If you’ve been hunting for a unique shop truck, this one might just be the one to get!
