The fit and finish of this rat rod are well, a bit questionable, but we all know it isn’t the style of this build that’s going to grab attention. It’s that twin-turbocharged Chevy 350 V8 that is going to get the blood pumping! The seller doesn’t say just how much power this generates under full boost, but getting it all to the ground required using the rear end from a 1970 Dodge Charger RT. You can find the seller’s auction here on eBay in Placerville, California with bidding at just $3,500 and a BIN of $5k.
Unfortunately, we don’t get a good look at the engine and its turbos, which is a major bummer. From what we can see, it looks like this could be one of the cheap turbo kits you can buy on eBay. While they are effective, there’s a lot of tinkering required to get them working properly. Once dialed in though, you can easily get 600 whp from these setups. That is if you don’t destroy the engine in the process. It sure would be nice to know what work has been done and if there’s anything still needed to make it a safe driver!
Looking this build over, I’m a bit concerned about the quality of the fabrication work. While you can live with ugly looking welds, you definitely don’t want to be going down the road in a twin-turbo V8 powered custom that might collapse in on itself. This is one you will definitely want to take a look at in person though, as it could very well be a well-built machine. With a $5k BIN though, it might be worth buying just for the engine, turbos, and rear end setup. Let us know what you think of this build and what you would do with it in the comment section below!
